Match your portable AC with the room that you want to cool it to get better cooling and efficiency. For example, if you install in room with direct sunlight, you must go up 10% more cooling capacity. If you placing the portable ac in in kitchen you have to add 3000 BYU more, and for typical room with more than 2 people inside you have to add about 5000 BTU extra. In case of open area cooling or semi open , you can’t use this normal portable air conditioner and you have to use Outdoor Air condtioner.
